What it is

The tool is a staged due-diligence path. It asks where you are in your vendor process, then routes you to the checks that carry the most weight at that point: governance maturity and standards when you are scoping, transparency and documentation when you are evaluating, and data, liability, notification and exit terms when you are about to sign. Each result tells you whether the vendor clears the bar for that stage, and where they do not, the specific red flag and what to do about it.

It is for anyone assessing an AI supplier: procurement, IT and security, legal, and the business owner who will live with the tool. It works whether you are drawing up a shortlist or reviewing a contract before renewal, because it gives you the questions that fit the decision in front of you rather than the whole list at once.

How it works

Have the vendor’s answers, and ideally their documentation and draft contract, to hand. Tell the tool which stage you are at, then answer the screening questions for that stage honestly about what the vendor can actually show you, not what they claim. The tool routes you to a result: either a clear path to the next stage, or the red flags to resolve before you go further, each with a recommended action. It takes about ten minutes, and you can run it again at each stage as a vendor moves through your process.
  1. Gather the vendor's answers, published documentation and draft contract before you start.
  2. Tell the tool which stage you are at: scoping, evaluating a shortlist, or about to sign or renew.
  3. Answer the screening questions for that stage based on what the vendor can actually evidence.
  4. Read your result and act on any red flags before moving the vendor to the next stage.
