What it is

An eight-page operational checklist for evaluating AI vendors across four dimensions: pre-contract due diligence, contractual clauses, ongoing monitoring, and contingency planning. Each item carries a risk rating (Low, Medium, High) and feeds into a scoring model that produces an overall risk band.

Built for CROs, COOs, procurement leads, legal counsel, and AI governance roles. Use at vendor selection, contract renewal, annual audit, or post-incident review. Use Section 3 as a standalone quarterly review tool between full assessments.

How it works

Download the PDF, work through each of the four sections, and rate every item Low, Medium, or High based on your vendor’s current state. Add up section scores using the scoring model on page seven to get an overall risk band. The final page sets out concrete next steps for moderate and high-risk vendors.
  1. Identify the vendor and use case you are assessing
  2. Work through the four checklist sections, rating each item L, M, or H
  3. Total your scores using the scoring model and identify your risk band
  4. Action the red flags and follow the next-step guidance for your band
