What it is
The tool is a guided decision path. It starts with your AI inventory, then checks for prohibited practices under Article 5, then asks you to classify your highest-risk use and state your role under the Act. Based on your answers it gives you a tailored result: the obligations that apply, the deadlines that bite, and a short list of actions to take next. The timeline reflects the Digital Omnibus amendments adopted in 2026, which moved most high-risk obligations to 2027 and 2028 while leaving the Article 50 transparency duties on their original 2026 date.
It is built for organisations operating in the EU that need to know where they stand without reading the whole Act: compliance and governance leads, IT and security, operations and the executives accountable for AI. It suits providers, deployers, importers and distributors alike, since the tool separates their duties rather than treating them as one.
How it works
- Confirm you have a complete, current inventory of the AI in use across the organisation.
- Check your uses against the Article 5 prohibited practices.
- Classify your highest-risk use and identify your role for it: provider, deployer, importer or distributor.
- Read the obligations and deadlines that apply to your situation, and the steps to close the gaps.
